Publication Ethics

To maintain the quality of the manuscript and avoid publishing violations/plagiarism in the publishing process, the editorial board determines the ethics of scientific publications at the Public Corner. These rules of publication ethics apply to editors, reviewers/reviewers, writers/authors, and journal/editorial managers. The ethics of the publication refers to The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Editor's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and authors/writers,
  2. Strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis,
  3. Implement processes to ensure the quality of published papers,
  4. Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively,
  5. Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record,
  6. Submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies when needed,
  7. Responsible for the style and format of the written work, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author/writer
  8. Actively solicit the opinions of authors, readers, review partners, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications,
  9. Encouraging an assessment of the journal if there are findings,
  10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an
  11. Ethics Clearance form that has been approved by the Ethics Clearance Commission,
  12. Support initiatives to educate researchers on publication ethics,
  13. Reviewing the effect of publication policies on the attitudes of authors/writers and peer reviewers and improving them to increase responsibility and minimize errors,
  14. Have an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions,
  15. Do not defend your own opinion, the author or a third party that can result in an unobjective decision, Encouraging authors / writers, so that they can make improvements to the written work so that it is worthy of publication.
  16. Publication information; editors must ensure that manuscript writing guidelines for authors and other interested parties can be accessed and read clearly, both in printed and electronic versions.
  17. Sharing of peer-reviewed manuscripts; the editor must ensure reviewers and manuscript materials for review, and clearly inform the reviewers of the terms and process of reviewing the manuscript.
  18. Objectivity and neutrality; editors must be objective, neutral, and honest in editing manuscripts, regardless of gender, business side, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group, and nationality of the author.
  19. Confidentiality; editors must safeguard any information properly, especially with regard to the author's privacy and distribution of the manuscript.
  20. Disclosure of conflicts of interest; editors must understand the ethics of scientific publications above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, so that the manuscript publishing process runs smoothly and safely.

Bestari Partner Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Received an assignment from the editor to review the written work and submit the results of the study to the editor, as material for determining the feasibility of a written work to be published.
  2. The reviewer is not allowed to have done the written work that involves himself, either directly or indirectly
  3. Maintain the author's privacy by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations
  4. Encouraging authors/writers to make improvements to written works
  5. Reviewing the written work that has been corrected in accordance with predetermined standards.
  6. The written work is reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author's legality, conclusions, etc.).
  7. Objectivity and neutrality; reviewers must be honest, objective, unbiased, independent, and only side with scientific truth. The process of reviewing the manuscript is carried out professionally without distinction of gender, business side, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group, and nationality of the author.
  8. Clarity of reference sources; the reviewer must ensure that the source of the reference/text citation is appropriate and credible (accountable). If errors or irregularities are found in the writing of reference sources/quotes, the reviewer must immediately inform the editor for corrections by the author according to the notes from the reviewer.
  9. Peer-review effectiveness; the reviewer must respond to the manuscript that has been sent by the editor and work in accordance with the specified peer-review time (maximum 2 weeks). If additional time is needed in reviewing the manuscript, it must immediately report (confirm) it to the editorial secretariat.
  10. Disclosure of conflicts of interest; reviewers must understand the ethics of scientific publications above to avoid conflicts of interest with other parties, so that the process of publishing the manuscript runs smoothly and safely.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Author/Author

  1. Ensure that those who are included in the list of authors/authors meet the criteria as authors/authors.
  2. Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article includes methods, analysis, calculations and details.
  3. State the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
  4. Explain the limitations of the research

  8. Reporting; The author must provide information about the process and results of his research to the editor honestly, clearly, and thoroughly, and keep his research data in a good and safe manner.
  9. Originality and plagiarism; the author must ensure that the manuscript that has been sent/submitted to the editor is the original manuscript, written by himself, originating from his own ideas and ideas, and not plagiarizing the written work or ideas/ideas of others. Authors are strictly prohibited from changing the names of the cited reference sources to other people's names.
  10. Repeat delivery; the author must inform that the manuscript sent/submitted to the editor is a manuscript that has never been submitted/submitted to another journal/publication publisher. If a "redundancy" is found in sending the manuscript to another publisher, the editor will reject the manuscript sent by the author.
  11. Author status; the author must inform the editor that the author has competence or qualifications in a particular field of expertise in accordance with the published field of science, namely librarianship. The author who sends the manuscript to the editor is the first author (co-author) so that if a problem is found in the process of publishing the manuscript, it can be resolved immediately.
  12. Script writing errors; the author must immediately inform the editor if errors are found in the writing of the manuscript, both the results of the review and the edits. The writing errors include writing names, affiliations/agencies, quotes, and other writings that can reduce the meaning and substance of the manuscript. If that happens, the author must immediately propose improvements to the manuscript.

Journal Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Decision-making; the manager of the journal/editorial board must describe the mission and goals of the organization, especially those relating to policy setting and journal publishing decisions without any particular interest.
  2. Freedom; Journal managers must give freedom to reviewers and editors to create a comfortable working atmosphere and respect author privacy.
  3. Guarantees and promotions; the journal manager must guarantee and protect intellectual property rights (copyright), and be transparent in managing funds received by third parties. In addition, journal managers must publish and promote the results of publications to the public by guaranteeing the benefits of using the manuscript.
